Broadstones School provides an alternative for pupils who struggle to attend mainstream school. My role at Broadstones was the start of my journey into utilising creativity as a tool for independence, empowerment and wellbeing.
I've had the honour of leading social prescribing sessions in the heart of a local community garden, allowing us to draw creative inspiration from our natural environment. I structure these sessions as creative socials; fostering collaboration and connection as participants work side-by-side to achieve creative outcomes, like working together to build paper-making screens. So far, participants have enjoyed printing with plants, recycled paper making, creating their own notebooks from scratch and building sculptures from wild clay!
Blether (@bletherforever) is an arts collective hosting community events and workshops in Greater Manchester! Having played a key role in Blether's growth over the last 3 years, it has nurtured my development as a community artist.
Blether Craft Club is a carefully curated space where anybody is welcome to experiment, play and connect through crafting! Each session focusses on a different activity, from badgemaking to clay tile decoration. My aim is to make crafting affordable and accessible by providing creative materials and simplifying complex processes into clear, concise demonstrations.
I am very familiar with struggle of keeping up-to-date with art coursework. That's why I offer tailored support for art students looking to meet deadlines and strengthen their portfolio!
For anyone else looking to develop existing skills or try something new, I offer personalised sessions in clay hand building, printmaking techniques, mixed media, painting and drawing!
